1/6 Kitbash Commissioner Gordon (Batman) - my first attempt

Here's my first serious attempt on a kitbash. I decided to customize a 1/6 Commissioner Gordon with the latest Hot Toys Lt. Jim Gordon figure as base. You will need to invest in some new custom clothes to get a decent result.

Because I didn't go for the Iminime Gordon custom (was far too pricey), I tried to hunt down some fitting custom 1/6 clothes to get an appropriate look.

Headplay Dwayne Johnson "The Rock" 1/6 headsculpt

Just a quick video tour on a custom headsculpt by headplay of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Likeness is okay for the price, would definately love to see a licensed version by Hot Toys anytime.

I decided to use it as headsculpt for a SWAT kitbash of Hot Toys' Lt. Jim Gordon SWAT body / uniform. The head fits perfectly in the SWAT helmet (not so speaking of the Gordon headsculpt itself).

You can find the Dwayne headsculpt everywhere on eBay for about 20 - 25 USD.

Hot Toys Lt. Jim Gordon 1/6 - Photo and video review

Another great, great figure by Hot Toys came in - Lt. Jim Gordon in Swat uniform from "The Dark Knight". The likeness to Gary Oldman is exceptional and this is one of the best headsculpts this year.

Hot Toys Samurai Predator - Photo review

Got my Sony Cam back and finally was able to take some photos of Samurai Predator by Hot Toys (also checked out the vid on youtube, see earlier blogpost .

 

AUTOart Motorized turntable for your 1/6 stuff

Fellow collectors. Today I share a vid with you that I made last week on a turntable i bought on eBay from producer AUTOart. Maybe you find it useful and get one as well.

Pros:

• mirrored surface
• power of cable or battery
• 12" in diameter
• 2 speed options

Cons:

• mirrored surface not completely even, its just plastic, you get some distortions - but not a big problem since you don't look from above
• bit cheaply made, just plastic all the way
• you hear some noise of the turning wheel

But all in all a cool way to support the presentation of your stuff.

Rewire Hot Toys Mech-Test Tony Stark 1/6

Just was checking the batteries on my Hot Toys Mech-Test Tony Stark figure. The wiring going into the battery pack is quite fragile so it happened that one of the plus / minus cables going to one of the palm-LEDs totally fly out of the connector.


By the way: It seems that it is a common issue on this figure that the pins in the white connector are a bit loose so that a flickering in the palm LEDs can happen. So be sure to check this out before going through my rewire steps.
